Orly "Goth" (A.K.A. first sour, then sweet!)

Orly “Goth” was at first glance one of the most disappointing polishes I’d ever bought. It was murky, and BUMPY! OH MY LORD SO BUMPY! And the glitter isn’t very glittery at all, and it made me sad. There are two types of glitter in this polish, large-ish round silver dots, and tiny square silver bits. On closer examination (which was given to me because I had to rush out of the house and didn’t have time to remove it immediately, which is what I wanted to do.) I learned to love it a little.
-It doesn’t sparkle in the sun
-it’s obviously bumpy, even with seche
-its so black
but… its oddly pretty. And unique. And I sorta like it. Here are the pictures!

First Tape Mani!

This manicure reminded me of the Llamasqua quills ("Scorn" with metal talons, basically). It’s my first tape mani, so it’s not the most exact thing ever, but I like it. I feel like I am a violent Barbie. And it’s sorta awesome.
My base is Color Club “Vintage Couture” which is one of my favorite polishes. It’s a streaky mess, but if you stick with it after four-ish coats it gets apaque and beautiful. It’s such a STRONG pink. The neon is Color Club “Jackie Oh!” which I love as well. After I purchased it I realized that I also have Zoya “Ali” which is almost the exact same color. However, “Jackie Oh!” is actually more opaguw, wheeR “Ali” is more of a jelly. And “Jackie Oh!” is more pnik, to “Ali”’s orange leanings.
Tape was a lot harder than I thought it would be! Here are the pictures :

Orly "Retro Red" (A.K.A. little red corvette)

I love this nail polish! It’s Orly “Retro Red.” Sorry I didn’t show it to you guys in its natural form (matte-ish) where it looks like an amazingly beautiful inside of a 1950’s corvette. It’s so amazingly pretty and retro and slightly washed out. Washed out in a good way. It definitely has orangey undertones, but so pretty.
The polka dots are Orly “Pure Porcelain” so pretty. This is getting to be my new favorite nail polish. It’s understated, but not quiet. Its such a pretty color, and these two together make me feel like Minnie Mouse. I’m SORTA IN LOVE WITH IT!
Well, happy polka dots! Here are the pictures:

Newsprint Mani! (A.K.A EXTRA EXTRA HEAR ALL ABOUT IT!)

This was a super easy manicure, that ends up looking really cool! It’s pretty clearly my first attempt (see the total failure of my index finger!) but I improved even within the process of this manicure. I really want to try it with sheet music! I’m about to go print some out for that purpose. I also really want to try the comics from the paper. I think I might be trying this right now for fathers day.
The base color is Orly “Pure Porcelain” which I am beyond in love with. It’s the perfect vaguely pink beige crème. I can’t even handle how much I love it. And I feel like in this manicure it looks like newsprint!
Here Y’all go!

Happy Father’s day!

Top Ten Award!

I was tagged for the Top 10 Award by Madeline of Girl Germs! Thank you so much :)

The Top 10 award rules:
1. Thank the person who tagged you and link to their blog.
2. Put the Top 10 Award logo on your blog.
3. List your top 10 cosmetics.
4. Choose 10 bloggers to tag, link to their blogs, and let them know.

My top ten cosmetics are as follows:

1. My number one, of all time, absolutely without a doubt, my go to product, the one item I cannot leave the house without…. Benefit “Benetint.” There is nothing quite like it out there. I got my bottle like two years ago, and I’m at most half way through, with daily use on cheecks and lips, sometimes bi-daily if I’m feeling down. Makes me look alive, sexy, and happy, even if I feel none of the above.

2. Blistex “Lip Medex” yes, it costs like 2 bucks in the checkout line at walgreens or cvs, but it’s one of those lip balms that cools and stings in a sort of pleasant way, so that it feels like it’s doing something. And I can’t help but feel that the container is sort of vintage looking! I’m never embarrassed to pull it out of my purse.

3. Toms of Maine Lavender Deodorant. Again, sort of silly, but my base scent is vanilla, and this complements that perfectly, while smelling good, making me sweat less, and not having aluminum, so no Alzheimer’s for me! (aluminum, an ingredient in most deodorants has been proven to contribute to Alzheimer’s later in life)

4. Makeup Forever “Lash Fibers” oh. My. God. People have mixed reviews of this, but as someone who was blessed with naturally thick lashes (but not so much in the length category) this is my go to product. I’m on my second tube, because I wear it everyday. On a normal day it’s one coat just to the tips of my lashes to stretch them out, if I want to feel uber pretty, I’ll drag it from bottom to top, then add an extra coat at the tips, but on special occasions its all over my top and bottom lashes, and they legit look like the realest fakes you’ve ever seen.

5. Jergens “Overnight Repair.” This magical lotion goes all over my body every night, and I wake up soft as a baby’s butt. I just discovered it this summer, but I will never go back!

6. I don’t know if this counts, but Goody “Spin Pins” are the bes thing ever invented. End of story. Buy some. Especially if you have long hair. Especially if you are in college. So easy and wonderful.

7. Maybelline “Great Lash” goes wonderfully over my base without adding bulk. I dare you to get this formula to clump!

8. Benefit “Soft Shoulder” eye shadow. I got this as an extra in a benefit order, and IT DOES NOT EXIST. I have searched the internet, but I think that I have the only “soft shoulder” ever! If I’m wrong, I would love to know! It’s my exact skin color plus pink, and a little darker. Its my “shadow” shade. I can’t live without it. And I’m almost out. My life.

9. St.Ives Apricot scrub. Yes. That is all. My face. So good.

10. Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Mascara in Burgundy. Hazel eyes rejoice! This makes my eyes look hella green. Except at the end of a long day, if you rub your eyes you will get red circles.

Color Club "Untamed Luxury" A.K.A. bang bang BLANG

Hey y’all! Today has been a trying day for me, I gouged out a big chunk of my wrist in the shower as I fell and hit my head, so I’m on my way to the hospital soon. I bled a lot in the shower, and then bled through like 5 big bandages. So… that’s fun.
I bring you all Color Club “Untamed Luxury.” This is a beauteous teal glitter in a green base. It’s great, and looks different in different lights, from blue to green. I then added China Glaze “Atlantis” on top of it to give it some extra oomph. I love Atlantis. It’s a blue-ish sheer base with silver holographic glitter floating in it.

Have a happy wednesday!

Follow follow follow!

Hey all! in my newest nail polish order I included things for a giveaway, if i can get up to fifty followers! y'all can do it!

Orly "Space Cadet" (A.K.A. tacky, tacky, love.)

Happy Monday all! I have the early shift at work this week, so I have to be a mile from my house at seven thirty every morning. But, that means I get out at four thirty at night, which is nice. This manicure is from while I was still at school, since my camera cord is lost somewhere in my absurdly cluttered room. I did this manicure for a night out, without realizing that I’m not the biggest fan of darker colors, even if they are magical darker colors, at night.
This is Orly “Space Cadet” with Color Club “Vintage Couture” stamped on top of it. I think that it looks like something that Katy Perry would wear on her nails (even though I really don’t like her.) normally when I wear “Space Cadet,” with its flashes of purple and green and its olivey base I feel like Ke$ha on a good day. Which I like. But this manicure went to a different place because of the Hello Kitty stamp. I’m pretty sure that I took this one off as soon as I photographed it, because I need my nails to really sparkle at night or I’ll fall asleep. Literally. I’m not even sort of a night person.

On that note, here are the pictures!

I just ordered a BUNCH of polish off of transdesign, and although I shed a tear every time I see the missing OPI tab, I feel like their Orly prices have gone down dramatically, so I bought like a billion Orly’s. for 3.75. I am a happy panda.
See you tomorrow!

Frida

I'm Back, for permanents this time.

So… this is news to me but a full time job is SO MUCH WORK! And I’ve been working from 9 am to 6 pm every day. I get home and flop on the bed. Dead. But I’m starting to get more adjusted, so I shall return to my happy little world of blogging now ☺
Today is my boyfriend and I’s nine month anniversary, and even though we are on opposite sides of the country, he sent me flowers to make it amazing. It was a great surprise, although theres still nothing like being together. In honor of that, I will do a manicure that my silly, romantic, far away mountain man, and lastly color blind boyfriend could appreciate.
He really likes it when I use my stamping plates, because then he can appreciate something going on with my nails. So these are one of the many patterned manicures I did with him sitting next to me. He actually chose this plate!
The polish I’ve already reviewed, it’s China Glaze “Good Witch?” and is just amazing. The stamping polish is N.Y.C. “French Tip.”

have a happy sunday!
