I'm Back!!! End of the Hiatus :) also... "School of Hard Rock"

Hi there faithful readers! I am so happy to be back. Things have been really really really crazy ☺ I joined the cheerleading team at my college, so I’ve had practice 24/7. But its so worth it☺
I ordered the whole winter collection from Essie, because it’s the first collection in a while that I literally gasped when seeing. The first one I’m going to show you is “School of Hard Rock” which is a gorgeous murky green blue grey. It’s not my favorite sort of color, in that I’ve been much more into light murky colors (spoiler alert: like the rest of the collection!!!) but this is still beautiful. I ended up getting bored and stamping China Glaze “Sea Spray” on top, for a dark cheetah print. I love it! Here are the pictures! Have a great night ☺

Mini Hiatus

I may not be able to post much these next couple days, seeing as I'm going to be in training to be an orientation leader for the freshmen and then BEING an orientation leader, haha. but I will get back to posting as soon as I can!
in the meantime, I leave you with Zoya "Roxie!" I borrowed this from my forever biffle Julia and oh my lord is it hot. This picture does not do it justice. it is deeply blingy and beautiful and wonderful.

CND Blueberry Whip Fauxnad! (A.K.A. chinaaaaa)

I know that I’m a total slacker, and clearly have not been blogging a lot, but I hope that you will excuse me. I just got my second tattoo yesterday, and it was the most painful experience of my life. My first tattoo, even though it was on my ribs (one of the most painful places to get tattooed) was short and sweet. This one is HUGE (my mother’s main complaint about it, otherwise she says that it’s beautiful) and colored in. I will post a picture once the swelling goes down ☺ it almost perfectly matches China Glaze “Lifesaver” which is nice. It’s a poppy, so… a poppy color is appropriate.
Onto the actual info, this manicure I did for when my boyfriend was coming. I’ve probably told y’all before that he’s colorblind (like COMPLETELY colorblind, he has zero cones) so he really likes it when I do a pattern on my nails, so he can share in my hobby. But he never saw this mani because his flight got cancelled and I have manicure add. But it’s a nice manicure anyways ☺ it’s CND “Blueberry Whip” and American Apparel “Peacock” stamped over it. The stamping plate is from the new-ish bundle monster. Here are the pictures! And it’s the last couple of days to enter my giveaway! Tell your friends!

China Glaze "108 Degrees" (A.K.A. on TGIW we wear pink!)

TGIW? Is that a thing? When you’re having the longest week of YO LIFE and your boyfriend is coming from Maine to see you on Friday, yes. Yes there is. ANDDNDNDNDNDNDNDN yesterday Mean Girls was on TV, so I feel like there is more of a push than usual to adhere to the “on Wednesdays we wear pink” rule. I mean… otherwise I won’t be able to sit with the plastics!
Here is an odd little polish I bought in my last major haul, 108 Degrees from the summer collection. It’s a hot pink glassfleck with a little bit of a purple flash. It’s so much fun! But… not my type of color. I took it off almost immediately. Perhaps for a Barbie costume? Actually, back at school when I start going out again this will be a much more important color in my collection. But right now it’s just sorta irrelevant. Here are the pictures anyways! Happy humpday!

OPI "Crown Me Already!" (A.K.A. erryday im sparklin)

So… I know that I have said a billion times how much I hate silver. And… this isn’t everyone’s favorite polish, BUT. BUT. BUTTTTTTTTTTT this polish and I are having a secret love affair. Please don’t tell Zoya “Kelly” about my little tryst. This polish has half a billion different sizes of glitter in it, with these big circle ones, and smaller ones, and rather than looking disjointed, it looks amazing, and SO SPARKLY and SO SHINY and just breathtaking. Literally every time I look at my nails it changes my life a little bit. Basically, this polish made me turn away from my silver hatin’ ways. Here are the pictures! And oh yeah, before you ask? It was a rhymes with witch to remove.

have a wonderful monday!

OPI "Too Hot Pink to HOld 'Em" (A.K.A. and then some...)

This mani started out as just OPI “Too Hot Pink To Hold Them” (which is one of the Texas collection sorbets, and more red than pink.) but my nails are strangely colored as all get out, so I decided that they need some nice opacity. I added first, just little daggers in Orly “Pure Porcelain” at the bottoms, and then I did the top two areas, with “Pure Porcelain” and Zoya “Phoebe” which I will have swatches of alone soon. I feel like they look like a fourth of July themed abstract painting. What do y'all think?

Happy Thursday, Lovelies!

Silver Shatter! (A.K.A. my nailpolish brings all the boys to the yard.)

When you spend as much time as I do on your nails, a lot of women come up to you and compliment them. My fourth of july mani was OFF THE HOOK with compliments. And as an eternal narcissit (I feel like anyone who has a blog has to be at least a little bit.) I LOVE compliments! But its generally women. However, today when I wore this I had, not one, but TWO men come up to me and complimented my nails. SO EXCITING.
So, I guess silver shatter from OPI is a GO for me! Haha. But I wouldn’t have it at all if it wasn’t for the bestestest friend, who drove me to go buy it ☺. It’s over Zoya “Kelly” here. Enjoy!

Orly "Goth" (A.K.A. first sour, then sweet!)

Orly “Goth” was at first glance one of the most disappointing polishes I’d ever bought. It was murky, and BUMPY! OH MY LORD SO BUMPY! And the glitter isn’t very glittery at all, and it made me sad. There are two types of glitter in this polish, large-ish round silver dots, and tiny square silver bits. On closer examination (which was given to me because I had to rush out of the house and didn’t have time to remove it immediately, which is what I wanted to do.) I learned to love it a little.
-It doesn’t sparkle in the sun
-it’s obviously bumpy, even with seche
-its so black
but… its oddly pretty. And unique. And I sorta like it. Here are the pictures!

First Tape Mani!

This manicure reminded me of the Llamasqua quills ("Scorn" with metal talons, basically). It’s my first tape mani, so it’s not the most exact thing ever, but I like it. I feel like I am a violent Barbie. And it’s sorta awesome.
My base is Color Club “Vintage Couture” which is one of my favorite polishes. It’s a streaky mess, but if you stick with it after four-ish coats it gets apaque and beautiful. It’s such a STRONG pink. The neon is Color Club “Jackie Oh!” which I love as well. After I purchased it I realized that I also have Zoya “Ali” which is almost the exact same color. However, “Jackie Oh!” is actually more opaguw, wheeR “Ali” is more of a jelly. And “Jackie Oh!” is more pnik, to “Ali”’s orange leanings.
Tape was a lot harder than I thought it would be! Here are the pictures :

Orly "Retro Red" (A.K.A. little red corvette)

I love this nail polish! It’s Orly “Retro Red.” Sorry I didn’t show it to you guys in its natural form (matte-ish) where it looks like an amazingly beautiful inside of a 1950’s corvette. It’s so amazingly pretty and retro and slightly washed out. Washed out in a good way. It definitely has orangey undertones, but so pretty.
The polka dots are Orly “Pure Porcelain” so pretty. This is getting to be my new favorite nail polish. It’s understated, but not quiet. Its such a pretty color, and these two together make me feel like Minnie Mouse. I’m SORTA IN LOVE WITH IT!
Well, happy polka dots! Here are the pictures:

Newsprint Mani! (A.K.A EXTRA EXTRA HEAR ALL ABOUT IT!)

This was a super easy manicure, that ends up looking really cool! It’s pretty clearly my first attempt (see the total failure of my index finger!) but I improved even within the process of this manicure. I really want to try it with sheet music! I’m about to go print some out for that purpose. I also really want to try the comics from the paper. I think I might be trying this right now for fathers day.
The base color is Orly “Pure Porcelain” which I am beyond in love with. It’s the perfect vaguely pink beige crème. I can’t even handle how much I love it. And I feel like in this manicure it looks like newsprint!
Here Y’all go!

Happy Father’s day!

Top Ten Award!

I was tagged for the Top 10 Award by Madeline of Girl Germs! Thank you so much :)

The Top 10 award rules:
1. Thank the person who tagged you and link to their blog.
2. Put the Top 10 Award logo on your blog.
3. List your top 10 cosmetics.
4. Choose 10 bloggers to tag, link to their blogs, and let them know.

My top ten cosmetics are as follows:

1. My number one, of all time, absolutely without a doubt, my go to product, the one item I cannot leave the house without…. Benefit “Benetint.” There is nothing quite like it out there. I got my bottle like two years ago, and I’m at most half way through, with daily use on cheecks and lips, sometimes bi-daily if I’m feeling down. Makes me look alive, sexy, and happy, even if I feel none of the above.

2. Blistex “Lip Medex” yes, it costs like 2 bucks in the checkout line at walgreens or cvs, but it’s one of those lip balms that cools and stings in a sort of pleasant way, so that it feels like it’s doing something. And I can’t help but feel that the container is sort of vintage looking! I’m never embarrassed to pull it out of my purse.

3. Toms of Maine Lavender Deodorant. Again, sort of silly, but my base scent is vanilla, and this complements that perfectly, while smelling good, making me sweat less, and not having aluminum, so no Alzheimer’s for me! (aluminum, an ingredient in most deodorants has been proven to contribute to Alzheimer’s later in life)

4. Makeup Forever “Lash Fibers” oh. My. God. People have mixed reviews of this, but as someone who was blessed with naturally thick lashes (but not so much in the length category) this is my go to product. I’m on my second tube, because I wear it everyday. On a normal day it’s one coat just to the tips of my lashes to stretch them out, if I want to feel uber pretty, I’ll drag it from bottom to top, then add an extra coat at the tips, but on special occasions its all over my top and bottom lashes, and they legit look like the realest fakes you’ve ever seen.

5. Jergens “Overnight Repair.” This magical lotion goes all over my body every night, and I wake up soft as a baby’s butt. I just discovered it this summer, but I will never go back!

6. I don’t know if this counts, but Goody “Spin Pins” are the bes thing ever invented. End of story. Buy some. Especially if you have long hair. Especially if you are in college. So easy and wonderful.

7. Maybelline “Great Lash” goes wonderfully over my base without adding bulk. I dare you to get this formula to clump!

8. Benefit “Soft Shoulder” eye shadow. I got this as an extra in a benefit order, and IT DOES NOT EXIST. I have searched the internet, but I think that I have the only “soft shoulder” ever! If I’m wrong, I would love to know! It’s my exact skin color plus pink, and a little darker. Its my “shadow” shade. I can’t live without it. And I’m almost out. My life.

9. St.Ives Apricot scrub. Yes. That is all. My face. So good.

10. Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Mascara in Burgundy. Hazel eyes rejoice! This makes my eyes look hella green. Except at the end of a long day, if you rub your eyes you will get red circles.

Color Club "Untamed Luxury" A.K.A. bang bang BLANG

Hey y’all! Today has been a trying day for me, I gouged out a big chunk of my wrist in the shower as I fell and hit my head, so I’m on my way to the hospital soon. I bled a lot in the shower, and then bled through like 5 big bandages. So… that’s fun.
I bring you all Color Club “Untamed Luxury.” This is a beauteous teal glitter in a green base. It’s great, and looks different in different lights, from blue to green. I then added China Glaze “Atlantis” on top of it to give it some extra oomph. I love Atlantis. It’s a blue-ish sheer base with silver holographic glitter floating in it.

Have a happy wednesday!

Follow follow follow!

Hey all! in my newest nail polish order I included things for a giveaway, if i can get up to fifty followers! y'all can do it!

Orly "Space Cadet" (A.K.A. tacky, tacky, love.)

Happy Monday all! I have the early shift at work this week, so I have to be a mile from my house at seven thirty every morning. But, that means I get out at four thirty at night, which is nice. This manicure is from while I was still at school, since my camera cord is lost somewhere in my absurdly cluttered room. I did this manicure for a night out, without realizing that I’m not the biggest fan of darker colors, even if they are magical darker colors, at night.
This is Orly “Space Cadet” with Color Club “Vintage Couture” stamped on top of it. I think that it looks like something that Katy Perry would wear on her nails (even though I really don’t like her.) normally when I wear “Space Cadet,” with its flashes of purple and green and its olivey base I feel like Ke$ha on a good day. Which I like. But this manicure went to a different place because of the Hello Kitty stamp. I’m pretty sure that I took this one off as soon as I photographed it, because I need my nails to really sparkle at night or I’ll fall asleep. Literally. I’m not even sort of a night person.

On that note, here are the pictures!

I just ordered a BUNCH of polish off of transdesign, and although I shed a tear every time I see the missing OPI tab, I feel like their Orly prices have gone down dramatically, so I bought like a billion Orly’s. for 3.75. I am a happy panda.
See you tomorrow!

Frida

I'm Back, for permanents this time.

So… this is news to me but a full time job is SO MUCH WORK! And I’ve been working from 9 am to 6 pm every day. I get home and flop on the bed. Dead. But I’m starting to get more adjusted, so I shall return to my happy little world of blogging now ☺
Today is my boyfriend and I’s nine month anniversary, and even though we are on opposite sides of the country, he sent me flowers to make it amazing. It was a great surprise, although theres still nothing like being together. In honor of that, I will do a manicure that my silly, romantic, far away mountain man, and lastly color blind boyfriend could appreciate.
He really likes it when I use my stamping plates, because then he can appreciate something going on with my nails. So these are one of the many patterned manicures I did with him sitting next to me. He actually chose this plate!
The polish I’ve already reviewed, it’s China Glaze “Good Witch?” and is just amazing. The stamping polish is N.Y.C. “French Tip.”

have a happy sunday!

Sorry for the long absence!

I know, I know, I sound like a broken record but I’m on vacation with my boyfriend in the middle of nowhere, so I’ve been spending more time outside than I have been doing my nails. But it’s been amazing. I haven’t been taking pictures though, something my lovely roommate (although is se still that now that schools out? She will be next year, and in my heart she is my roomie fo LYFE) disapproves of. I miss her, but I’ll see her soon! On that note, here is my manicure from one of my last nights with her!
Perhaps it’s ridiculously stereotypical, but the last night of classes before finals there was a toga party. I never actually made it inside, it got shut down, but I still dressed up, and did this manicure. It matched my fancy aged gold leaf headband perfectly! Here’s a terrible picture of the group of ladies I went with:

I’m the tall one who is almost completely obscured by the flash, lol. But the nails are Milani “Gold Lame” which I’ve shown y’all before, and CND “Asphalt” which is one of my absolute favorite grays. I used a BM plate, but I can’t remember for the life of me which one. But it’s in the original set, not the new one (although I want that one like CRAY CRAY! It also has a coat of Seche on top. Here it is!

I had an amazing manicure yesterday too, and I’ve bought some new polishes, so I can’t wait to get more on top of this. I can’t promise how good I’ll be this week, but after that I’ll be home, and in blogging heaven. I even have a lightbox at home! But I’m having so much fun here; it’s crazy ☺ I hope that all of you are having a great summer too! And my camera is back! YAYYYYYYYY!
